Beer and Cider

The Hawkedon Queen is and has been respected for many years as one of the few true Free Houses with a robust and knowledgeable drinking trade drawn from all walks of life and backgrounds. We throw in traditional cellarmanship and a high throughput of craft beers to ensure a great selection of cask conditioned ales in tip-top condition.

You’ll always find Adnams Best Bitter (3.8% abv, Southwold, Suffolk) and Woodforde’s Wherry (3.7% abv, Woodbastwick, Norfolk) available with up to another four real ales on tap. In addition we have at least three traditional still scrumpy ciders in the cellar plus a refreshing perry.

If you’re not a real ale fan we also stock Aspall’s Suffolk Cyder (5.5% abv, Debenham, Suffolk) as well as Leffe Blond (6.6% abv, Leuven, Belgium), Guinness (4.1% abv, Dublin, Ireland)

Peroni Nastro Azzuro (5.1% abv, Rome, Italy) Staropramen (5% abv, Prague, Czech Republic) and Carling as our lager de cuisine.

For many years we have featured in both the Good Beer Guide and the Good Cider Guide.
